Reese Witherspoon is getting her paws on producing. After already nabbing up the rights to Gillian Flynn?s Gone Girl, Witherspoon and Fox 2000 have swept up the rights to J. Courtney Sullivan?s forthcoming novel The Engagements, a story about the passing of a diamond engagement ring from the 1930s to the present, connecting five very different relationships in surprising and unexpected ways. Deadline reports that Witherspoon may be part of the ensemble cast.

It was reported very recently that director Lynne Ramsay?s no-show to the set of the upcoming indie western ?Jane Got a Gun? had producers in a frenzy to look for a new director. According to Deadline, they pulled through, attaching Gavin O?Connor (whose credits include ?Warrior? and ?Pride and Glory?) to the project. But the drama-plagued production received more bad news today as Jude Law, who was a last-minute replacement for Michael Fassbender, pulled out of the project. Reports say his reason for taking on the project in the first place was the opportunity to work with Ramsay, best known for ?We Need to Talk About Kevin,? and once she was off the project, so was he.

For those of you who have eyes and ears, you?ve heard about the Veronica Mars movie project. It broke Kickstarter records by surpassing their $2 million goal in less than twelve hours. The canceled cult TV series followed the sassy and headstrong Kristen Bell as a high school student who moonlighted for her father?s private eye business. After three seasons, their plug was pulled and fans have been longing for a resolution. The show?s creator, Rob Thomas, revealed pivotal plot details for the movie today, as well as announcing a live Twitter chat with Kristen Bell.

The buzz-worthy upcoming Netflix original series ?Hemlock Grove? finally has a trailer. The Eli Roth (?Hostel I & II? and ?Cabin Fever?) produced project, adapted from the novel by Brian McGreevy, follows the hunt for the killer of a young girl in a sleepy and mysterious small town. At the center are two teen boys, both the prime suspects in the murder, and both of different social standing (one being an heir to the richest family in town and the other, a gypsy who may very well be a werewolf). With a great cast and plenty of potential thrills, this 13 episode original series looks promising!
